Q What is toenail fungus? A Toenail fungus is produced when a fungal nail infection has developed. It can often look like the nail has thickened, discoloured and become flaky and brittle. If left untreated, the fungus can develop and cause the nail to become painful and uncomfortable.
Q What are the symptoms of toenail fungus? A The symptoms of toenail fungus include: • A yellow or brown discolouration of the nail • White 'islands' on the surface of the nail • Nail surface becomes thick and rough in texture • Brittle nail surface with raised ridges
Q What causes nail fungus? A A fungal nail infection can occur when either toenails or fingernails are infected by a fungus. If an entry is made for fungus to invade the nails, through damage, trauma or disease, then an infection can develop.
Q Why treat my fungal infection? A If a fungal nail infection is left untreated, the infection could become worse and the nail could become very brittle and detach from your toe. An untreated nail could also become painful and uncomfortable. That is why we have the Scholl Fungal Nail Treatment for an easy-to-use treatment that effectively treats fungal nail infections.
Q Can I put nail varnish on the nail once the treatment has dried? A Nail varnish or artificial nails should not be used whilst treating a fungal nail infection with the Scholl Fungal Nail Treatment. Scholl Fungal Nail Treatment has not been tested with nail varnish or artificial nails and using nail varnish or other products could have an impact on the efficacy of the treatment.
Q What are the active ingredients of the Scholl Fungal Nail Treatment? A As a medical device, this product does not contain any antifungal active ingredient but instead creates an acidic environment in the nail which the fungi are unable to grow in.
