Caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV), warts and verrucas are contagious and can spread from person to person by direct skin contact. If skin is already damaged, wet or soft and comes into contact with damp surfaces like swimming pool changing rooms, you are at more risk of being infected
Although unsightly, warts and verrucas are generally harmless and don’t come with many other symptoms. Verrucas may feel uncomfortable or painful when walking.
Fungal Nail occurs when the nail structure becomes infected by fungus, which feeds off the keratin in the nail. It is often caused after the nail has experienced trauma, creating a cavity for these bodies to invade.
The nail becomes thickened and discoloured (yellow, brown or white). It may become brittle, causing the nail to crumble and separate from the skin, and can result in discomfort when wearing shoes.
